Luxottica, the Italian company that manufactures the Ray-Ban brand, announced it intends to fill at least 30% of its top management positions with female executives within the next two years. Although 40% of the employees at its headquarters in Milan are women, the company has only one female board member. “We are in the luxury business, which is driven by innovation,” said Nicola Pela, Luxottica’s director of human resources. “The more diverse you are, the more likely you are to be innovative.”...[ read more ] |

My boss just asked me to spearhead a diversity committee at work. My boss has always known that I am really interested in diversity issues so, I was a natural choice.
