Aboriginal income: big negative numbers: Part One

Aboriginal people in are “massively” the worst-off ethnic grouping in Canada. That’s the view of economist Krishna Pendakur who states categorically that the income and earnings of the aboriginal population pales in comparison with all other Canadians.
“The numbers are big negative numbers,” says Pendakur, professor of economics at Simon Fraser University, who late last year co-authored a research paper on the income levels of the million or so people who identify themselves as aboriginal.

Groundbreakers, a new report released by Ernst & Young, has shown that having more women in leadership roles is good for business, but companies have to plan for it and ensure that women get the right mentoring and advance through the ranks. “Investing in women to drive economic growth is not simply about morality or fairness.
